• The clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic offering varieties of treatment including all phases of interventional medicine, physical therapy, psychiatry, and acupuncture to mention a few. The American Academy of Pain Management has recommended that physicians referring patients for chronic pain conditions have the best outcomes when referring to comprehensive clinics.
• The clinic was one of the first in the United States to use radiofrequency neuroablation as a treatment for chronic nerve pain. Use of radiofrequency waves to destroy nerves that have been identified as painful nerves has become a gold standard in the treatment of chronic pain. Dr. Donnini’s clinic helped pioneer this procedure.
• PEMCO was one of the first clinics to use Prialt, a medication that is derived from snails and can treat pain without the use of opiates.
• Dr. Donnini helped to pass Ohio’s Chronic Pain Bill by providing information to Senator VanViven and his committee, who eventually established Ohio’s chronic pain laws. Consequently, Dr. Donnini has a unique understanding of chronic pain patients’ needs.
• PEMCO has stayed on the cutting edge of interventional pain management to provide chronic pain care. Dr. Donnini and his staff provide radiofrequency neuroablation, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, spinal pumps, spinal stimulation, and a variety of nerve blocks.
• The Center's medical management of chronic pain is approached in a safe and appropriate manner. The PEMCO Doctots have developed patient agreements and medical contracts for patients receiving chronic pain, which is now the standard accepted method on all patients receiving controlled medications for pain. Additionally, PEMCO pioneered the use of advanced GCMS drug monitoring and screening processes for patients.
• A comprehensive physical therapy department includes TNS units, back bracing, physical therapy, laser light therapy, laser decompression traction, exercise, and education with a full-time physical therapist on staff.
• A licensed full-time acupuncturist is available in the clinic for the treatment of chronic pain patients, who may be amenable to acupuncture care.
. • A licensed massage therapist is integrated with the physical therapy practice and also used as alternative care outside of the scope of physical therapy. PEMCO was one of the first clinics to institute the use of massage therapy in chronic pain. |
