OUR PHYSICIANS
 
  Dr. Richard M. Donnini.

Dr. Donnini is the founder and president of the Pain Evaluation & Management Center of Ohio. He was the first physician to practice outpatient interventional pain management in southwest Ohio and one of the first to do so in Ohio. He is one of the first physicians to use radiofrequency neurolysis and medication contracts for patients. He has 17 years of experience in interventional pain management. He is board certified in pain management and completed a year of fellowship in pain management. His patients and staff refer to him as “Doc.” He is a friendly and helpful physician who cares deeply about his patients.

  Dr. Lisa F. Lichota.

Dr. Lichota is our clinic director and vice-president of our practice. She has 13 years of experience in interventional pain management. She is board certified in emergency medicine, addiction medicine, and pain management. She completed a year of fellowship in pain management. She was one of the first physicians in southwest Ohio to be board certified and residency trained in pain management. She shares philosophies with Dr. Donnini on the care and compassion towards patients. She is a mother of four and a hard-working, energetic, and very charismatic physician.
 
  Dr. Thomas Heitkemper.

Dr. Heitkemper has been an integral part of our staff over the last eleven years as a psychologist. He is one of the first psychologists in the State of Ohio to direct the Psychology Department and manage an inpatient pain management program (in Cincinnati). We were fortunate enough to bring him into our practice as a director of our Psychology Department and he is one of the most respected psychologists in the State of Ohio in the area of psychology and pain management. With over 22 years experience with chronic pain patients, he is familiar with all the psychological techniques related to the management of chronic pain.
     
  Dr. Mark Thomas.

Dr. Mark Thoma is the newest addition to the staff of the Pain Evaulation & Managment Center of Ohio. He is board certified, and served as the Medical Director of the Good Samaritan Hospital Detoxification Unit until 2006, when the it finally closed. He has maintained his private practice of family medicine and addiction medicine at the Family First Care Center in Trotwood, Ohio until February of 2008. He emphasizes primary care in pain management and addiction medicine, and plans to develop a comprehensive addiction center here in the Greater Dayton area. He is married with 3 children.

NURSE PRACTITIONERS
 
Our staff employs three nurse practitioners; Yvonne Clark, CNP, Shiron Jones, CNP, and Lidia Berrone, CNP. All three nurse practitioners have extensive experience in the area of nursing and are certified through the State of Ohio to do patient assessments and have prescriptive authority to write prescriptions on most medications. Our nurse practitioners are caring and compassionate and are an integral part of providing chronic pain management. Many of our patients will see our nurse practitioners for follow-up visits. Though not required by law, there is always a physician on staff when the nurse practitioners are here and these physicians are always available for consultation during office visits.
 
OPERATIONS MANAGER
 

Karen Malko, LPN is our operations manager.  Karen has worked in our practice for several years and has 15 years experience in the medical field.

 
PHYSICAL THERAPY
 
Keith Rost is our physical therapy director and runs the day to day operations in our physical therapy department. Keith has a degree in physiology and has provided physical therapy services for over ten years. He is a very knowledgeable and caring person and has an extensive understanding of physical therapy and rehabilitation as it relates to pain management.
 
ACCUPUNCTURE
 
James Sears, RAC is a registered acupuncturist with the State of Ohio Medical Board and is nationally certified with the NCCAOM. He has worked extensively in the area of acupuncture and has a master’s degree in oriental medicine as well with over 3200 hours of training.
 
DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL STAFF
 
Our assistant manager and director of the medical staff is James Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey has a longstanding history of management experience and has been in our office for over two years.
 
MEDICAL STAFF
 
We have a medical staff that has extensive experience in the administrative side averaging six years of experience in this office and outside experience of ten years. Our medical staff all have prior experience in the area of pain management or extensive training in this office. We hire both licensed practical nurses and certified medical assistants.
